WE DELVE INTO YOUR...

Jyotish provides profound insight into YOUR specific path in this lifetime. Stemming from the Sanskrit root jyotis, meaning “brightness” and the suffix “-a,” which refers to a system of knowledge, Jyotish is the science of light, illuminating your pathway to your highest self.

Vedic Astrology Readings (Jyotish)

Seek Alignment

Unlike the western tropical astrology which uses the seasonal zodiac system, Jyotish uses the sidereal zodiac, focusing on the fixed position of stars and constellations while honoring the planetary transits. Jyotish doesn’t attempt to explain “who you are” in the fashion of many Western personality astrological assessments.

Moreover, Jyotish explains how to make the most of who you are. By reading into the atman (your authentic soul) opposed to the ego (the character you play in life), Jyotish is able to highlight not only your greatest strengths and potentials, but your areas of struggle and spaces for growth.

How is Jyotish different from Western astrology?

FAQ

What is a Vedic astrology (Jyotish) reading?

A Vedic astrology reading is a one-on-one exploration of your birth chart through the ancient sidereal system of Jyotish, a tradition practiced in India for thousands of years.

Unlike Western astrology, Jyotish is deeply rooted in the wisdom of timing; helping us understand not only who you are, but where you are in your life right now. Together, we’ll explore your dharma, the deeper purpose and evolutionary direction of your life; your current dasha, the planetary cycle shaping this chapter; and the practices that can help you move with greater awareness, alignment, and flow.

How is Vedic astrology different from Western astrology?

Unlike the western tropical astrology which uses the seasonal zodiac system, Jyotish uses the sidereal zodiac, focusing on the fixed position of stars and constellations. It tracks the actual positions of planets against the fixed stars. Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which has drifted around 24 degrees from the actual sky over the last 2,000 years. This is why your sun sign in Vedic astrology is often different from your Western sun sign. While Western astrology focuses more on personality traits, Vedic astrology gives you insight to the atman and your precise timing helping to guide your path forward in this lifetime.

How long is the session and what's included?

The initial Natal chart reading is about 60 to 90 minutes via Zoom, or in person if you are getting a reading while on a retreat with Seek Yoga Collective. You’ll receive a full recording of the session afterwards, plus any tailored practices and remedies we discuss. This may include breath, mantra,or kriy practices and gemstone recommendation where it’s relevant. Sessions are $333 USD.

Do I need to know anything about astrology before my reading?

Nope. These readings are accessible for novices. You’ll receive a clear understanding of your natal chart, your current timing, and a practice to take away. The session will be recorded and sent to you, so that you can revisit it any time.

Do you read charts for people outside the US?

Yes, readings are given to seekers all over the world. All readings are given in English. Sessions are held over Zoom and recorded, so timezone is rarely an issue. I’ll work with your timezone when scheduling.

What information do I need to provide to book?

Your exact date of birth, your exact time of birth (as accurate as possible, within 5 minutes is most ideal), and the city you were born in. If you don’t know your birth time, we can still do a meaningful reading using a chart rectification approach, but it’s stronger with the birth time.
